| 1916, Jan 1 | At Bombay All India Muslim League session, moved Resolution to appoint a Committee to formulate a scheme of reforms in consultation with other organizations such as Indian National Congress; Desired all political parties to unite against British. Declared that "the Indian National Congress and All India Muslim League were the two chief Representative political organizations of India". In accordance with his Resolution a All India Muslim League and Indian National Congress Committee was appointed to negotiate a Hindu Muslim settlement. |

| Nov 16 | Played a key role in the deliberations of All India Muslim League Committee on reforms. On his initiative the "Memorandum of the Nineteen", signed by 19 non-official ILC members on, post-war reforms was presented to the Viceroy. The Memorandum was identical to the scheme jointly prepared by the Indian National Congress and All India Muslim League. Moved a Resolution protesting against the treatment meted out to Indians in the colonies. |
| Dec 25-28 | Along with Hindu And Muslim leaders made Indian National Congress and All India Muslim League to accept 30% Muslim Representative, in Provincial Councils as against the Muslim proposal of 33% and the Hindu proposals of 25%. |
| Dec 30-31 | Presided over All India Muslim League Lucknow session which approved the Lucknow Pact. Spoke on Khilafat issue. He was the
first All India Muslim League President to raise the issue. In this session Syed Sulaiman Nadvi recited his Urdu poem entitled
"Mr. Mohammed Ali Jinnah". Elected Member of All India Congress Committee at Indian National Congress session Lucknow, where Sarojini Naidu quoted Gokhale as saying that Mohammed Ali Jinnah was "the best ambassador of Hindu Muslim Unity." |
