Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's favor 109 to 42 votes; his plea that new constitution cannot be approved unless supported by
three-fourths of the members. was rejected by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi; walked out of meeting along with Jamnadas Dwarkadas
in protest against Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's "unconstitutional" ruling. |

unite and work for a program which is universally acceptable for the early attainment of complete responsible Government. Such a
program cannot be dictated by any single individual but must have the approval and support of all the prominent Nationalist Leaders
in the country and to achieve this end, I am sure my colleagues and myself shall continue to work." |

In the Indian National Congress session at Nagpur; opposed Resolution changing the aims, objects and creed of Indian National
Congress opposed Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's non-cooperation program; termed it as "dangerous for the country's future", and said
that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi had always caused "split and disorganization" and that his program would "end in disaster".
Referred to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, using the prefix "Mr." instead of "Mahatma", and on loud and repeated protests from the
audience said "I refuse to be dictated. I have my discretion to call a man by whatever designation I choose provided it is in a
Parliament / Parliamentary language."
Later, left the Indian National Congress session in disgust followed by 20 other participants including Jayakar and Munshi. |

League.
