In reply to Jawaharlal Nehru's letter of October 6, wrote that the formula regarding Interim Government was accepted by him and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and stated "I regret I cannot agree to any change in the language or otherwise, as it was the agreed basis of our discussion on other points." Jawaharlal Nehru replied on October 8 that "Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi formula is not happily worded". Disagreed with Jawaharlal Nehru's views on fundamental principles put forth by him Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah for reconstituting the Interim Government. |

Jawaharlal Nehru's utterances and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's pronouncement made on October 23 machinery for
establishing immediate peace and tranquillity to the riot affected refugees of Bihar, where 30,000 had been killed and 15,000
had been made shelter less. Informed Viceroy of the grave situation created in Bizarre which made consultations with colleagues difficult, substantiated Congress non-acceptance of Mission Plan in the light of official documents and categorical statements of their leaders. |
