Decoration (Udskift billedet nedenfor)

These additional
ornamentations within the tomb chamber exhibit a taste for the traditional
craftsmanship that is still preserved in Pakistan. They are elaborate,
intricate and at the same time poetic. The geometrical grills of the windows
and the copper screens of the arched doorways follow the old taste and
reveal an inclination that is derived from the Arabesque decoration of
the mediavel buildings. The interior wall surface, with its onyx green
separators of the marble slabs, adds charm to the building and the outer
offset design is a great relief to the massive structure that rises above
everything else. To them must be added the triple window arches that decorate
the drum. The ornamentation is sparse, but whatever they are, they do
not disturb the architectural beauty of the monument, which is grand in
concept and appealing for its marble white colour. No doubt it is attractive,
and will go down in the history of architecture in Pakistan as a model
of mausoleums for future adaptation.
