Lights and Reflectors

In daylight, the marble white colour of the mausoleum with its high copper archway
in the middle of each side, stands out clearly against the blue sky. In
the night, the reflectors, fitted on high poles, throw a glow of light
from four directions and present the white building in a contrast of light and shade. The whole
building is aglow and attracts the human eye from far and near. However,
within the enclosure there are other lights to show the path to the visitors.
These lights beam out from three kinds of lamps. One is a variety of the
ornamental lamps on either side of the gates. These are Victorian street
lamps with straight sides. A second variety of lamps light other paths.
They are smaller, round in shape, with double shades and further protected
by iron frames. A third variety lights the V.I.P. car passage. They have
a broad circular shade of moon-lit colour, shedding clear light on nearby
plants and trees.
