(1911-1967)
Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali was born in Rojhan Jamali circa 1911. His grandfather Mir Dur Mohammad Jamali was a great social reformer
and is widely remembered with veneration as "Sakhi" (Generous). His father Mir Taj Mohammad Jamali was a man of letters, a
philanthropist and an ardent muslim who practised and preached Muslim brotherhood. He was a diehard opponent of All-India Congress.
His son Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali carried the message of his father to the nook and corner of Baluchistan. A great proponent of
'Two Nation Theory', he soon became a close associate of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and became supporter and preacher of the
doctrine and policies of All-India Muslim League.
His abilities were fully focused in 1939 on the political horizons of India when he organised a high level meeting at Jacobabad
which was attended by such prominent Muslim League leaders as Sir Haji Abdullah Ramon, Raja Sahib of Mahmudabad, Amir Ahmed Khan and
Abdul Waheed Farangi Mahali. This mammoth gathering arranged and organised by Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali resulted in the Congress
dominated constituencies of Nasirabad and Jacobabad into a stronghold of Muslim League and Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali was instrumental
in galvanising Muslims of the area into a homogenous whole and henceforth it became a vanguard of Muslim emancipation of Baluchistan
and upper Sindh. The same year i.e. 1939 he led a strong delegation of 30 prominent political figures to the Annual Session of Muslim
League in Madras. He led delegations from Baluchistan to the All-India Muslim League sessions at Lahore in 1940, Karachi in 1941,
Allahabad in 1942 and Delhi in 1943. It was due to his consistent and untiring efforts that the idea of Pakistan became popular in
Baluchistan and a time came when Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah started calling Baluchistan as "My Province" and a time did come
when the whole Baluchistan opted to join Pakistan in 1947. He had a life-long affiliation with Muslim League. He established a
newspaper "Tanzeem" to highlight the doctrine and policies of Muslim League and the Muslim Ummah. This Paper never accepted grant
from any source and was fully financed by Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali. He was gifted with singleness of purpose, sincerety and devotion
to the cause of Muslim brotherhood and everlasting loyalty towards the ideology of Pakistan.
He passed away on April 7, 1967.
