Louis Mountbatten

(1900 - 1979)
Louis Francis Albert Victor Nicholas Mountbatten. Better known as 'Lord Louis' among the british people or as 'Dickie' within the family. In his position as Viceroy, Mountbatten oversaw the granting of independence to both India and Pakistan. He was given the title "Earl Mountbatten of Burma" in recognition of his service in the Far East. He was killed by a bomb-blast whilst holidaying in his boat in Donegal Bay, Rep. of Ireland.
